Our 3D Scanning & 3D Printing Process
3D scanning and 3D printing are part of a connected workflow that moves between the real world, the digital world, and physical production. At Dorna Works, this process can begin either by capturing an existing object or structure through scanning, or by developing a digital model that is prepared for physical output. In both cases, the goal is to transform form into something that can be refined, presented, and experienced more directly.
The images shown here focus on the 3D printing side of that process. They reflect different stages of physical production, from printed pieces and raw output to refinement, polishing, and final painted presentation. Together, these stages show how a digital model can move beyond the screen and become a finished physical object.
Printed Physical Outputs
The first stage shown here is the physical production of the model through 3D printing. These printed pieces represent the moment when digital form becomes a real object with scale, material presence, and visible structure. At this stage, the printed result already carries the identity of the original design and allows the model to be seen and understood in physical space.
Raw printed outputs can serve different purposes depending on the project. They may be used as prototypes, study models, display objects, or as the foundation for further finishing. This part of the process is important because it gives form to the digital model and creates the first tangible version of the work.

Refinement and Surface Preparation
After printing, some pieces move into a refinement stage where the surface is improved and prepared for a cleaner final result. This can include polishing, smoothing, and correcting visible imperfections so the printed object appears more seamless and visually complete.
This stage plays an important role in the quality of the final piece. A strong print is not only about structure and form, but also about finish. By refining the surface, we improve the overall appearance of the object and prepare it for presentation, painting, or final use.

Painted Final Result
The final image represents a later stage of the workflow, where the printed model has been painted and visually completed. This stage transforms the print from a production object into a presentation-ready piece with more character, definition, and visual impact.
Painting and finishing help the model move closer to its intended final form. Through color, surface treatment, and visual refinement, the object gains a more complete identity and becomes more effective as a display piece, artistic object, or finished presentation model.

At Dorna Works, 3D scanning and 3D printing are part of the same creative and technical pipeline. A project may begin with capturing something real, continue through digital processing, and end as a physical object shaped through printing, refinement, and finishing. The process shown here highlights how digital models can become tangible results that are not only produced, but carefully developed into polished final pieces.
